About

A short biography.

Karmin Fouché is a South African author writing about ordinary behaviour, emotional patterns and the person underneath.

Her work explores the small things people do, what those behaviours may be protecting, and what becomes visible when we replace quick judgement with closer attention.

She is the author of Why We Do That: Notes on Empathy, Behaviour and Being Human. Before You Were This: Healing the Person You Were First, the opening book in The Repair Series, arrives on 25 September 2026.

Before publishing under her own name, Karmin spent more than a decade writing in other people’s voices, including more than thirty published books. She has a background in communication, media and psychology.

She lives on South Africa’s Garden Route and writes for readers who want to understand themselves and other people with greater accuracy, compassion and curiosity.

She holds a BA in Communication Science with postgraduate studies in psychology, and an Honours in Media Studies cum laude.
