Karmin Fouché is a South African author based in the UAE. She writes about ordinary behaviour and emotional patterns: the small things people do, and what those things are quietly telling us. She is the author of The Why We Do That Series and The Repair Series, two shelves of short, close-read books written with curiosity and compassion rather than verdicts.

Karmin Fouché is a South African author based in the UAE. Her work begins from a simple conviction: most of what people do made sense once. The habits, the deflections, the small rituals of a working day or a long relationship are not character flaws to be corrected. They are patterns that learned to keep someone safe, and they repay attention far more than judgement.
The Why We Do That Series is a set of short, close-read volumes on ordinary behaviour, from the small things people do in daily life to the patterns that follow them through the office door. The Repair Series runs alongside it, quieter and closer, on the person underneath: the child who built the patterns, the partner, the self at rest.
Her writing stays with curiosity and compassion. It does not diagnose, prescribe or decide what anyone is really like. It notices, and lets the noticing be enough for a while.
